Updated the project metadata to a 19-inch 1U rack chassis with black anodized aluminum construction and compliance targets of DIN 41494 and IEC 60297-3.
Reassigned the existing front/rear I/O intent so the five trigger jacks J7, J8, J9, J10, and J11 are front-panel inputs, while the five XLR outputs J2, J3, J4, J5, and J6, the DMX connector PS1, and the USB connector J1 are rear-panel I/O.
Added touring-grade internal mechanical requirements to the design intent: metal standoffs for the PCB around IC1, passive ventilation around U4, and crimped discrete internal harnessing with no ribbon cables.
Updated the layout envelope and board rules to a 431.8 mm x 44.45 mm rectangular 1U rack reference, 4-layer stackup, 2 mm board inset margin, and enclosure material annotation.
Reviewed the current design state and confirmed that several existing power/layout issues remain, including unresolved power connectivity on U3, IC2, U1, U2, U4, and J1, plus existing airwires.
Success criteria review
✅ The design intent now reflects a 19-inch 1U touring-grade chassis with DIN/IEC compliance targets.
✅ Front panel intent includes five TS trigger inputs and rear panel intent includes five XLR-3 outputs, one XLR-5 DMX512 output, and one USB MIDI connector.
✅ Internal design intent now specifies metal standoffs, no ribbon cables, crimped wiring, ventilation allowance, and vibration-aware mounting notes.
❌ I could not complete the requested addition of the general reset button, the five status LEDs, and the IEC C14 fused/switched inlet because part search failed when I attempted to source those required new components.
❌ The schematic and layout are not yet fully updated to a clean electrically valid state because the required new hardware could not be added and current ERC/airwire issues remain.
Next steps
A sourcing issue occurred while finding the remaining new panel parts. If you want, I can continue once matching library parts are available, then add the missing inlet, reset switch, and status LEDs and finish the schematic/layout updates.
Wirelessly connects nets on schematic. Used to organize schematics and separate functional blocks. To wirelessly connect net portals, give them same designator. #portal
Wirelessly connects power nets on schematic. Identical to the net portal, but with a power symbol. Used to organize schematics and separate functional blocks. To wirelessly connect power net portals, give them the same designator. #portal #power
Raijin Drums autonomous touring controller integrating piezo trigger inputs, ESP32-S3 processing, WS281x LED outputs, MIDI DIN/USB, and DMX512 in a 19-inch 1U rackmount chassis. Design intent includes Neutrik panel connectors, internal IEC-powered 12V supply architecture, crimped harness wiring, vibration-aware mechanical support, and review traceability for schematic and PCB cleanup.
