PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means working through the electronics, PCB, enclosure, and their fit together—not just drawing a circuit.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, arrange connectors and components, then design an enclosure around the board. This suits electronics-driven projects, but the enclosure may need to grow or change to accommodate the PCB.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s size, shape, mounting, and user-facing openings, then fit the PCB inside. This suits products with strict packaging requirements, but makes board placement and routing more constrained.
Both workflows are iterative: connector access, mounting holes, component heights, and cooling need checking together. Neither means finishing one half before considering the other.
I haven’t changed your project this session. Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
