AI Hardware Engineer
Flux is the AI hardware engineer: it handles electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and complete working products from a prompt. PCB design, enclosure design, and mechanical design all happen in the same project.
Overview
Flux is integrated directly into the Flux project environment.
Schematic design: place and wire parts, create modules, and build circuit blocks from a description of what the board should do.
PCB layout: place components and route traces, set up the stackup and design rules, pour polygons and ground fills, and clear the DRC errors that are left.
Part selection and sourcing: search the library, compare alternatives, replace parts, and check prices and stock against the bill of materials.
Design review and FMEA: review a design for mistakes, run a failure mode and effects analysis, and report the risks it finds.
Enclosure and mechanical design: model the mechanical parts around the board and check how the PCB fits its enclosure.
Routing assistance: route buses, differential pairs, and constrained nets, and fix what the router leaves behind.
Datasheets and calculations: extract datasheet information, evaluate engineering formulas, and analyze circuit parameters.
Simulation: run transient, AC, DC, and operating point analyses on your circuit.
Code: write Python scripts for data analysis and visualization.
With Flux, you can quickly turn your idea into a complete project. Flux can help with:
Starting a conversation
Simply type your question or request in the Chat tab. Flux maintains context within conversation threads, allowing for natural back-and-forth exchanges about your design.
What can Flux do?
Answer questions: Get relevant information for part selection, design feedback, and circuit optimization.
Parse datasheets: Save time by having Flux extract and reference datasheet information.
Modify your design: Let Flux make connections and changes directly in your schematic with your approval.
Find components: Search the library for parts that meet your specifications.
Generate FMEA reports: Identify potential failure modes and assess risks with FMEA analysis
Perform calculations: Evaluate engineering formulas and analyze circuit parameters.
Generate code: Create Python scripts for data analysis and visualization.
Simulate circuits: Verify circuit behavior using SPICE simulation.
