Safe Li-ion Charger Design

build a safe li-ion battery charging moduel
I’m blocked from making project changes right now because execution credits are unavailable. No schematic or layout changes were made; the project is still empty with 0 components and 0 nets.
To build a safe Li‑ion battery charging module, the next design pass should:
  • Define the battery type: single-cell 1S Li‑ion/LiPo is the safest default assumption.
  • Add a USB-C or Micro-USB power input with input protection.
  • Use a dedicated charger IC with proper charge-current programming, status LEDs, thermal considerations, and required input/output capacitors.
  • Add battery connector polarity protection and optional protection IC/fuse if the cell is not already protected.
  • Verify charger wiring against the datasheet and run schematic review before layout.
Key question before implementation: should this charger be for a single 3.7 V Li‑ion/LiPo cell, and what charge current do you want, for example 500 mA or 1 A?
